Note: This site will no longer be updated but will still be available should you wish to view the articles. Some new "North Lancs League" articles will occasionally be added on my other website under the "Grassroots" tab. To view please click here.
Thank you for visiting my website which began its existence in May 2015 by focusing predominantly on football in the North Lancashire area. Here you will find information about the variously named Lancaster Leagues from 1891-1970. Club photos, player profiles and histories plus "Team of the Decade" and "Giants" add substance and pride to grassroots football. Other narratives such as Defunct Grounds and eight decades of league tables and cup competition results help the reader learn more about the rich history and tradition of this league.
A group of former players known as the 50/60 Club, led by Terry Ainsworth, raised over £30,000 for the Orthopaedic Ward at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary from 2001-2011 with a variety of charitable events. Click here for more details.
Having written a book about the William Smith Festival visitors to the site can read all about the "Easter Field" by clicking here.
My other website looks at football through a wider and more diverse perspective including players and clubs throughout the Football League. To view please click here.
